    We get a lot of pitches. Most don\u2019t get accepted. Here are some tips to stay out of our trash folder:<\/strong>
    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Style<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    • Submit your post via Google docs or MS Word only.<\/span><\/li>
    • Articles should be from 1,000 to 2,000 words in length.<\/span><\/li>
    • We write in American English only.<\/span><\/li>
    • Most include one internal link to one of our own blog posts.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Tone<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
      • Use active, not passive voice.<\/span><\/li>
      • Be specific, don\u2019t write fluff.<\/span><\/li>
      • Never plagiarize, we expect only original content.<\/span><\/li>
      • No hate speech.<\/span><\/li>
      • No self-promotional content.<\/span><\/li>
      • Use recent and sourced examples to illustrate all the points you make and hyperlink your sources.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Format<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
        • Only the first word in the title should be capitalized. The title should be H1.<\/span><\/li>
        • Only capitalize the first word in each subheading. Subheads should begin with H2 and below.<\/span><\/li>
        • Periods go inside quotation marks. \u201cThis is how you would punctuate a quote.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/li>
        • Question marks go inside quotation marks if they\u2019re part of the quote. \u201cHow do I punctuate a quote?\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/li>
        • Leave a single space between sentences.<\/span><\/li>
        • Capitalize the first word of a bullet point.<\/span><\/li>
        • Use subheadings and short paragraphs to break up large chunks of text. <\/span><\/li>
        • Use exclamation points sparingly, and never more than one at a time. <\/span><\/li>
        • Use en-dash (\u2013) to indicate a range or span of numbers. Do not use hyphens.<\/span><\/li>
        • When writing out an email address or website URL, use all lowercase.<\/span><\/li>
        • Capitalize the names of websites and web publications. Don\u2019t italicize.<\/span><\/li>
        • Avoid spelling out URLs, but when you need to, leave off the <\/span>http:\/\/www<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Important \u2013 Please note!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
          • No affiliate links.<\/span><\/li>
          • No links to alcohol, tobacco, firearms, pornography, or payday loan websites.<\/span><\/li>
          • No obvious anchor text placement. \u201cSoftware developer USA\u201d is an example of anchor text placement. <\/span><\/li>
          • One dofollow backlink is permitted in the author\u2019s bio, not in the main text. The link will only be to the company homepage.<\/span><\/li>
          • Author bio must be 2-3 sentences long and will include a professional headshot image sized at 200 x 200 pixels.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            Process<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
            1. Pitch your unwritten idea to us.<\/span><\/li>
            2. Our team will assess your pitch and decide whether it will match our focus areas.<\/span><\/li>
            3. Send your post to us for internal review and final edit. If it met our guidelines it will be sent for publishing. If it does not, you will have one revision to correct.<\/span><\/li>
            4. Post is published once it has received editorial approval by our team.<\/span><\/li>
            5. The post is shared with our network and we invite you to share amongst yours.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
