The winners of the Estonian Design Awards<\/a> were announced at a gala at the Culture Hub on the September 16. The grand prize – the Life-changing Smart Solution Award \u2013 went to Metsa\u00fchistu\u00ae, a forest management association label concept created by the design agency Brand Manual. Proekspert had the honor of presenting the award to Metsa\u00fchistu\u00ae.<\/p>\n

The jury consisting of representatives from Proekspert, the Estonian Design Centre and the Ministry of Culture. The winner was selected from graphic, web and service design entries, the award\u2019s objective being to showcase design that creates positive change in people\u2019s lives.<\/p>\n

\u201cMetsa\u00fchistu\u00ae is the quality standard for forest management from which all parties stand to gain,\u201c said Proekspert\u2019s user experience designer Kaja Kruus. \u201cMetsa\u00fchistu\u00ae is committed to making the private forestry sector in Estonia attractive to forest owners, forest buyers, and to the state as a whole. As a result, the value of forests will grow.\u201c<\/p>\n

Metsa\u00fchistu\u00ae project manager Priit P\u00f5llum\u00e4e said the cooperative has already enjoyed the first fruits of the work done by Brand Manual. Brand Manual representative Timo Suvi said it\u2019s important that the cooperative now has a toolbox it can use. Eight cooperative branches are already using the Metsa\u00fchistu\u00ae symbol.
\nMetsa\u00fchistu\u00ae also won an award in the service design category for integrated service design process.<\/p>\n

A winner was not selected in the Life-changing Product Design category. Fleximoover (design by Iseasi) and Metsak\u00f5lakojad RUUP (designer Birgit \u00d5igus) \u2013 the large wooden megaphones installed in forest \u2013 both received honorable mention.<\/p>\n

The best designers of the year were also recognized in five additional categories: product design, graphic design, web design, service design, and young designers.
